Terms & Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing the Bookkeeping & Tax Prep Chrome extension, purchasing a license, or using the offlinebookkeeping.me website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the software.
2. Description of Software
Offline Bookkeeping ("the Software") is a client-side Chrome extension designed to parse bank statement PDF documents, categorize transactions, verify monthly balance reconciliation, and export formatted workbooks (.xlsx) and QuickBooks (.qbo) files.
The Software runs 100% locally in your browser using Chrome's client-side environment. No PDF statements, account numbers, or client financial records are ever transmitted to or stored on our servers.
3. License Grant & Usage
Upon purchasing a subscription license, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software for your personal or professional bookkeeping and tax preparation workflows.
- Unlimited Usage: A valid active license permits unlimited bank statement conversions and unlimited client profiles.
- License Keys: License keys are generated cryptographically and linked to your purchase. You may not share, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or distribute license keys to unauthorized third parties.
4. Payments & Subscriptions
All payments, invoicing, and billing for the Software are handled securely by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record (MoR).
- Subscription Cycle: Subscriptions renew on a monthly basis ($19/month or as selected during checkout) unless canceled prior to the renewal date.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time without penalty or cancellation fees via our Manage & Cancel Subscription page, your Paddle purchase receipt, or by writing to [email protected]. Following cancellation, your license remains fully operational until the end of your current paid billing period.
- Taxes: Paddle handles the calculation, collection, and remittance of applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST in your jurisdiction.
5. Disclaimer of Professional Advice
The Software is a data parsing and organization productivity utility. It is not an accounting firm, certified public accountant (CPA), or licensed tax preparer. The user remains solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all extracted numbers, categorizations, and tax filings before submitting returns to authorities or clients.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Offline Bookkeeping and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business interruption, arising out of the use or inability to use the Software.
7. Modifications to Service and Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms or update the Software at any time. Continued use of the Software after notice of modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
